Brent started working for the company as an apprentice butcher in the town shop, and he proved to be very talented.  He then ran the beef boning room in the old factory, transferring to the new plant when that was built.  15 years ago, Aalt began training Brent in buying stock, and Brent started traveling to Temuka weekly.  Eventually Brent took over the buying of stock completely and now travels all over the South Island in search of the perfect beast, either on the hoof for the farm, or on the hook for processing. Somewhere along the way, Brent fell in love with the boss’ daughter, Mary-Anne.  They were married in 1984.
