Canterbury Smoked Beef & Canterbury Roast Beef

 

Local flavour - From the rolling plains of the South Island comes the Verkerk's range of Canterbury Smoked and Roast Beef. These two prime tender cuts are the ideal basis for sandwiches, salads and meat platters; and are each unique with the rich dark tones of the smokehouse or the spicy caramel marinade of the classic roast. It's all Mainland flavour, and it tastes great.


Canterbury Roast Beef

 

Description:

A fully cooked roast of beef, rubbed with a spicy caramel marinade and roasted in a bag to retain the natural juices.

Packages:

Whole or pre-sliced in 1kg and 500g 


Canterbury Smoked Beef

Description: A lean eye of beef silverside that has been sugar cured. The heavy smoking creates a rich dark colour and taste.
Packages: Whole or pre-sliced in 500g

 

STORAGE:

Chill between 1 and 4C

Keep Vacuumed or in breathable wrapper (eg. lunch wrap).

Shelf life after opening: 2 days at <4C


SLICING INSTRUCTIONS:

Clean the slicer and make sure the blade is sharp.

Canterbury Roast Beef: Slice at a thickness of 2mm

Canterbury Smoked Beef: Slice at a thickness of 1mm

 

DISPLAY TIPS:

Slice the meat in a very tidy stack or shingled.

 

SERVING SUGGESTIONS:

Canterbury roast beef is tasty on sandwiches or in salad rolls with mayonnaise, tomato and lettuce. Rolled or folded on a meat platter.

Canterbury smoked beef is best eaten cold and thinly sliced in salad rolls or sandwiches with gherkins, mayonnaise, tomato or lettuce.
